New GST rates: What would get more expensive

5 per cent GST on pre-packed, labelled food items like atta, paneer and curd.

5 per cent GST on hospital rooms with rent above ₹5,000

Maps and charts, including atlases, will attract a 12 per cent Goods and Services Tax (GST).

18 per cent GST will be levied on tetra packs.

18 per cent GST on fees charged by banks for the issue of cheques (loose or in book form).

Tax rates on products such as printing, writing or drawing ink; knives with cutting blades, paper knives and pencil sharpeners; LED lamps; drawing and marking out instruments will be hiked to 18 per cent from 12 per cent currently.

Solar water heater will now attract 12 per cent GST as compared to 5 per cent earlier.

Services such as work contracts for roads, bridges, railways, metro, effluent treatment plants and crematoriums too will see tax going up to 18 per cent from the current 12 per cent.

Government Departments and accountability

Sometimes it seems only a few ministers besides Modi is working and the rest are waiting for everything to be done by ModiJi and other ministers who are working, Corona spread Health minister was sleeping, the health department was snoring, Coal was about to finish and coal ministry coal minister and different energy generation units decision-makers were on Kumbhkaran sleep. 70 years of misrule and corrupt system has made us reactive and not proactive.

We wake up when people die, we start to protest when rapes are done, we react when water is already over our head and then go and sleep again till other misfortune appears to happen again.

Every department, every employee every government official every bureaucrat needs to be accountable if their negligence purposefully then the people should lose their salary or job then things will get in order.

A system can not function as the only basis of a single person every part of the system must try and contribute to their part.

There are many departments in the country which need transformation and accountability must be set and monitored.
